Healthcare in singapore

Healthcare in Singapore.
Self reliant policy.
Government keeps healthcare in Singapore affordable.

MEDISAVE
• Encourages Singaporeans to be responsible for their own health
• A compulsory saving scheme in which workers contribute 6~8% of their monthly salary.
• These amount of money can be used to pay for hospital bills and certain medical treatment when needed.

MEDISHIELD

• Even with MEDISAVE, some groups of people that required long-term treatment still has difficulty paying the hospital bills.
• Hence this scheme is introduced to help this group of people.
• This scheme enables patients that require long term treatment to make claims for large medical bills that the Medisave scheme does not cover.

MEDIFUND

• Even with MEDISAVE AND MEDISHIELD, there are still some groups of people that could not afford the medical treatments.
• Hence this scheme is introduced to make medical treatments more affordable.
• The government started with a fund of 200million, and the interest earned from this fund is given to public hospitals where they are being treated.
